Instructions
- 1RW and PV shift simultaneously to the right side to create a 4v2 overload
- 2CB passes to RB as the entry into the right-side flood, drawing D-CB toward the ball
- 3RB advances and feeds PV positioned centrally on the right side near the 9m line
- 4PV distributes quickly to RW on the right wing, stretching the two defenders wide
- 5RB cuts toward the 6m line while RW draws attention on the wing
- 6RW returns the ball to RB arriving at shooting range for a jump shot finish
Coaching Points
- RW and PV must flood the right side before the defense can slide — timing is everything
- CB must move with the ball to keep their defender occupied and prevent them from helping
- In a 4v2 overload, pass to the player who is two passes away from the nearest defender
- LW stays back deliberately and loudly — their absence on the right creates the overload
- Do not hold the ball in the overload; quick movement forces one of the two defenders to foul
Common Mistakes
- RW and PV flood too slowly, giving the defense time to slide and balance the numbers
- CB stays at the top of the arc instead of moving with the ball to occupy D-CB
- LW cheats toward the right side instead of staying back, negating the overload advantage
- Players hold the ball too long in the 4v2, allowing the two defenders to set up positioning
- Passing sequence goes backward instead of forward, wasting the numerical superiority
