Sealing Defender While Attacking
WL threatens the goal line to pull the defense, while PV uses body positioning to seal the assigned defender and create a clean lane for an entry pass in motion. Focuses on body leverage, timing of the cut, and immediate finish.

Instructions
- 1WL sprints toward the goal line to draw D-WL deep and create space
- 2CB passes to WL on the left wing, initiating the play
- 3PV seals D-PV with hip and body positioning, cutting toward the 6m area
- 4WL drives further toward the goal line, widening the gap for PV
- 5WL delivers the entry pass to PV arriving in the sealing position near goal
- 6PV catches in motion and finishes with an immediate jump shot at close range
Coaching Points
- PV seals with the hip and backside, not the arms — pushing with arms is a foul
- Make contact with the defender before the pass arrives, not while trying to catch
- WL must attack the goal line aggressively to pull D-WL away from helping on PV
- After the seal cut back sharply — a slow curl lets the defender recover position
- Catch and finish in one motion; holding the ball invites help defense from D-WL
Common Mistakes
- PV pushes the defender with extended arms instead of using hip and backside, drawing a foul
- Seal is initiated too late — the pass arrives before PV has established body position
- WL jogs toward the goal line instead of sprinting, failing to draw D-WL deep enough
- PV catches the ball and pauses before shooting, giving help defense time to arrive
- CB delivers a lazy pass that floats over the seal, allowing D-PV to recover and intercept
