Instructions
- 1CB advances with the ball while PV holds position near the 6m line against D-PV
- 2CB delivers a direct pass to PV in tight space at the pivot area
- 3PV receives and initiates a 360-degree spin, using the pivot foot as anchor against D-PV
- 4Simultaneously, WR pushes forward on the right wing to stretch the defense
- 5PV completes the spin to create a shooting angle toward the goal
- 6PV releases a high-trajectory spin shot over D-PV before help defense can arrive
Coaching Points
- Plant the pivot foot firmly before initiating the spin — a sliding foot gives an offensive foul
- Keep the ball close to the body throughout the spin, never extended where it can be stripped
- Drive the inside shoulder down to generate rotation speed through the defender
- Eyes find the goal corner at the top of the spin, before the feet complete the turn
- Release high and over the outstretched arm — a flat shot will be blocked
Common Mistakes
- Pivot foot slides during the spin, resulting in an offensive foul (travelling)
- Ball is extended away from the body during rotation, making it easy to strip
- Spinning too slowly and losing the element of surprise against the defender
- Shooting flat after the spin instead of elevating over the block
- Starting the spin before securing the catch, leading to fumbles
