Instructions
- 1P2 and P3 spread wide simultaneously as P1 holds the ball at center
- 2P1 delivers the ball to P2 on the upper right side
- 3P4 drops to a lower position while P2 passes across to P4
- 4P3 cuts diagonally through the center toward the far side and receives from P4
- 5P5 pushes forward on the right and receives the ball from P3
- 6P5 drives to the shooting position and finishes with a jump shot on goal
Coaching Points
- Call the play name before initiating — teammates must hear it first
- Switch calls must be immediate — delay gives offense an advantage
- Use short, standard words: 'cut', 'screen', 'switch' — not full sentences
- Keep ball movement matching the called play — don't freelance mid-sequence
- Finish with a controlled shot — the play is only complete when the ball hits the net
Common Mistakes
- Players freelance mid-sequence instead of following the called play
- The play call is mumbled or unclear, causing half the team to run the wrong pattern
- Ball handler calls the play too late — teammates have already committed to positions
- Players use different terminology for the same play, creating mismatched execution
- The call is correct but the timing of execution is off — movements start at different moments
