Instructions
- 1CB passes to PV at the pivot position while RB pushes forward on the right
- 2PV relays the ball to RB arriving on the right side
- 3RB passes back to PV who has advanced toward goal while LB shifts forward
- 4PV distributes the ball back to CB who has moved into a forward position
- 5CB passes to LB on the left side who drives toward the shooting zone
- 6LB finishes with a jump shot on goal from the upper left
Coaching Points
- Patience is the weapon — draw the defense into committing before attacking
- Pivot is the anchor: circulate through them repeatedly to maintain structure
- No cross-court passes — use only short, safe deliveries that can't be intercepted
- The 5v4 window appears quickly — recognize it immediately and execute without discussion
- Every player must know their role before the ball is in play — no improvising under pressure
Common Mistakes
- Players panic and rush the attack instead of being patient with the numerical disadvantage
- Cross-court passes are attempted and intercepted, giving away easy fast-break goals
- The pivot is not used as the circulation anchor — passes bypass them
- Players do not recognize the 5v4 window when it appears
- Improvisation under pressure replaces the rehearsed structure
