Instructions
- 1CB drives toward PV while PV adjusts screen position near the 9m line
- 2CB passes to PV after using the screen to draw D-CB into contact
- 3PV receives and rolls hard toward the 6m line, accelerating past D-PV
- 4WR pushes up on the right wing to prevent defensive help from collapsing
- 5PV arrives at close range near the goal with the ball in shooting position
- 6PV finishes with a quick standing shot before the defense can recover
Coaching Points
- PV sets the screen with a wide base and does not lean — a moving screen is illegal
- CB dribbles directly at D-CB's outside shoulder to force them into the screen
- The roll begins the instant CB passes the screen — PV must not wait for the pass
- CB delivers the pass to PV's inside hand as PV rolls toward the 6m line
- PV finishes without hesitation — receiving a roll-and-catch so close to goal is a high-percentage shot
Common Mistakes
- PV leans into the screen or moves their feet during contact, resulting in a moving screen foul
- CB dribbles too far from the screen, allowing D-CB to slip through without contact
- PV rolls too early before CB uses the screen, leaving the screen without purpose
- CB delivers the pass to PV's outside hand, forcing PV to spin away from the goal
- PV hesitates after receiving the roll pass instead of finishing immediately
