Instructions

  1. 1CB drives with the ball from center toward the 9m line to draw defenders
  2. 2LB cuts diagonally toward the left side of the 9m zone with momentum
  3. 3CB dishes a sharp pass to LB at the peak of the drive
  4. 4LB receives in stride and continues toward goal
  5. 5LB finishes with a jump shot targeting the far top corner

Coaching Points

  • CB: commit fully to the drive — half-speed draws no one
  • Time the dish pass before the defense closes the gap, not after
  • LB: start your cut the moment the CB takes his first step
  • Arrive at the 9m line with your hips already facing goal
  • Keep your eyes up through the drive — make the GK commit early

Common Mistakes

  • CB drives too slowly, allowing the defense to recover and close the passing lane
  • LB starts the cut too late, arriving at the 9m line after the window has closed
  • Dish pass is telegraphed by looking directly at the receiver before releasing
  • LB catches the ball flat-footed instead of arriving with shooting momentum
  • CB commits to the pass too early before drawing enough defensive attention
