Instructions
- 1P1 passes forward to P2 positioned on the upper right side
- 2P1 immediately cuts diagonally forward toward the goal area
- 3P2 times the return pass to P1 arriving near the central scoring zone
- 4P1 receives in stride and fires a jump shot on goal
Coaching Points
- Start the cut the moment the ball leaves your hand — not after
- Cut at an angle toward the goal line, not straight down the middle
- The timing pass requires the receiver to be in stride — call the cut aloud
- Catch at full speed and shoot in one motion — no settling allowed
- If the cut is covered, loop back to create a second option
Common Mistakes
- The cut starts too late — the passer waits a beat after releasing the ball
- The cutting angle goes straight down the middle instead of toward the goal line
- The return pass is mis-timed — it arrives before or after the cutter is in stride
- The cutter settles the ball and takes extra touches before shooting
- When the cut is covered, the player does not loop back to create a second option
