Instructions
- 1A1 advances centrally with the ball to pull both defenders.
- 2A2 sprints wide to the upper wing; A3 fills the lower wing.
- 3D1 drops toward center; D2 shifts to cover A3's side.
- 4A1 reads D1's commitment and passes to the open wing (A2).
- 5A2 drives deep; A3 moves up as a secondary option on the far side.
- 6Ball swings from A2 to A3; A3 finishes with a jump shot.
Coaching Points
- Wings must sprint to the sideline — width is what creates the advantage
- A1 reads the first defender to commit, then passes to the opposite side
- Keep the ball moving; one extra dribble lets the defense reset
- The third pass should be a shot, not another pass
- Call out defender positions so A1 makes the right read quickly
Common Mistakes
- Wings running too narrow and failing to stretch the two defenders
- Ball carrier dribbling instead of passing, giving the defense time to recover
- Making one too many passes when a clear shooting opportunity is available
- Not scanning the court to read which defender commits first
- Wings arriving at the same depth instead of staggering for multiple passing options
