Instructions
- 1GK distributes immediately to A3 at center to start the break.
- 2A1 sprints to the upper wing; A2 sprints to the lower wing.
- 3A3 catches on the move and advances centrally to pull the defenders.
- 4D1 and D2 retreat to cover the wings under pressure.
- 5A3 reads the defense and passes to A1 on the open side.
- 6Ball swings from A1 to A2; A2 finishes with a jump shot.
Coaching Points
- GK must throw or roll immediately on the save — do not hesitate or dribble
- A1 and A2 must be moving before the GK releases the ball, not after
- A3 receives on the move and looks to distribute in one motion
- The GK advancing as an extra option forces defenders to commit an extra player
- Wings must call out 'open' loudly so A3 knows where to release
Common Mistakes
- Goalkeeper hesitating after the save instead of distributing immediately
- Wings starting their runs after the GK throws instead of anticipating the release
- A3 catching the ball and stopping to survey the court instead of distributing on the move
- No verbal communication from wings, forcing A3 to guess who is open
- GK throwing an inaccurate outlet that slows the transition by requiring A3 to adjust
