Instructions
- 1A1 pushes the ball up center; A2/A3 sprint wide to both wings.
- 2A4 trails behind A1 as a secondary passing option through the middle.
- 3D1, D2, and D3 recover and choose coverage positions.
- 4A1 passes to trailing A4 who advances into the gap.
- 5A4 delivers the ball to A2 on the open wing; A3 supports the far side.
- 6A2 drives deep and finishes with a jump shot before defenders recover.
Coaching Points
- A4 trailer must stay patient — arrive too early and you block the lane
- Whoever has a 1v0 situation shoots immediately, no extra passes
- A1 must look to the weak side first to draw defensive help away
- Spread across the full court width to make the defense cover maximum distance
- After each pass, the passer continues running to create a fifth threat
Common Mistakes
- Trailer arriving too early and clogging the passing lanes for the primary attackers
- Passing up a clear 1v0 shooting opportunity and making an unnecessary extra pass
- All attackers converging to the ball side and losing the width advantage
- Passer stopping after releasing the ball instead of continuing the run
- Not looking to the weak side first, making the defense's job easier
