Instructions
- 1CB drives forward with the ball while LB cuts toward the left 9m zone
- 2PV shifts into screening position to block the GK's line of sight
- 3CB passes to LB as LB arrives near the screen
- 4LB immediately returns the ball to CB who moves behind PV's screen
- 5CB cuts sharply around the screen and fires a jump shot from the blind side
Coaching Points
- Release the moment you clear the screen — every fraction of a second matters
- PV: hold the screen until you hear the shot, then clear immediately
- Shooter: use peripheral vision to locate the goal; looking directly telegraphs the move
- Cut at a sharp 45-degree angle off the screen for the widest blind spot
- Trust your preparation — commit to the shot without hesitation off the screen
Common Mistakes
- Shooter hesitates after clearing the screen, giving the goalkeeper time to adjust
- Pivot moves the screen too early, exposing the shooter before the ball arrives
- Cutting at a wide angle instead of a sharp 45-degree cut, reducing the blind spot
- Shooter looks directly at the goal before the screen, alerting the goalkeeper
- Poor timing between the passer and the screen — pass arrives before or after the cut
