Instructions
- 1P1 opens with a bounce pass to P2, ball hitting the ground at two-thirds distance
- 2P1 moves toward center after passing to create a rotating pattern
- 3P2 receives the bounce pass low, then bounce-passes to P3
- 4Sequence continues clockwise: P3 to P4, P4 to P5, P5 to P6, P6 back to P1
- 5Each passer moves to center after releasing to maintain the rotation
Coaching Points
- Aim the bounce at two-thirds of the distance to the receiver for the best angle off the floor
- Receiver: prepare with hands low and spread wide — bounce passes come up faster than expected
- Put pace on the pass — a soft bounce pass gives the defense time to read and intercept
- Passer: step into the pass and push down, not forward, to get the right bounce angle
- Keep your eyes up after releasing — know where the next pass is going before it arrives
Common Mistakes
- Bouncing the ball too close to the passer, causing it to arrive at the receiver's feet
- Bouncing too far from the receiver, making the ball pop up too high and uncontrollable
- Receiver has hands too high, missing the low-rising bounce pass entirely
- Pushing the pass forward instead of downward, resulting in a flat trajectory with no bounce
- No pace on the pass — a slow bounce is easily intercepted by any aware defender
