Instructions
- 1LW pushes forward on the upper wing while PV advances near goal simultaneously
- 2FT passes to LW arriving on the upper right side to initiate the quick attack
- 3LW delivers the ball to RB driving forward on the lower side
- 4RB receives and distributes to RW cutting along the lower wing toward goal
- 5RW advances toward the far lower corner and finishes with a jump shot on goal
Coaching Points
- All outfield players begin moving to wing positions as the free throw is being awarded — not after
- Shooter must transition from thrower to receiver in under two seconds
- LW receives and passes immediately — do not hold when the defense is disorganized
- RW cuts to goal line before the ball arrives — catch and shoot in one action
- Exploit the 6v5: the open player is always there — find them before taking a contested shot
Common Mistakes
- Outfield players wait until after the free throw to start moving instead of before
- The shooter does not transition fast enough from thrower to receiver
- LW receives and holds the ball instead of immediately passing to continue the fast break
- RW cuts too early and arrives at the goal line before the ball, standing still when it arrives
- The 6v5 advantage is wasted because players do not find the open player
