Instructions
- 1All four players advance together from the left side in a stacked formation
- 2Maintain equal vertical spacing as the group moves across the full court
- 3All players reverse direction and retreat back together toward center court
- 4Keep the formation intact throughout the return movement
Coaching Points
- Maintain equal spacing throughout — bunching loses the formation benefit
- Move at the same pace — the slowest player sets the rhythm, others match
- Keep your eyes on teammates, not just the ball — formation awareness is the goal
- Call out adjustments as the formation moves: 'spread left', 'close right'
- Cohesion is built in repetition — run the movement pattern until it feels automatic
Common Mistakes
- Players move at different speeds, breaking the formation
- Spacing collapses as players drift toward each other during movement
- Players watch only the ball instead of tracking teammate positions
- No verbal communication — adjustments happen too late or not at all
- The formation breaks down completely when the direction changes
