Instructions
- 1P1 and P2 exchange soft passes back and forth while holding light arm stretches between throws
- 2P3 and P4 mirror the exchange from the opposite pair, communicating stretch positions verbally
- 3Alternate pass types gently: chest pass, then underhand, keeping the exchange predictable and calm
- 4Hold each stretch until the partner is ready to throw, prioritizing recovery over tempo
Coaching Points
- Tell your partner what you are stretching before the pass so they match the timing to your needs
- Keep the exchange soft and predictable — surprise throws defeat the purpose of a stretch
- Maintain eye contact with your partner to keep the communication calm and connected
- If a stretch needs more than one breath, hold it and skip a pass — the stretch takes priority
Common Mistakes
- Throwing surprise or hard passes that interrupt the partner's stretching
- Not communicating which stretch is being held, causing timing mismatches
- Rushing through the exchange without pausing for proper stretching
- Standing in an uncomfortable position to catch instead of adjusting for the stretch
