Instructions
- 1CB drives forward from center and passes to PV near the 6m line
- 2PV receives and shifts position, then immediately returns to CB
- 3CB moves into a contested shooting position as D1 closes in
- 4D1 applies body contact, forcing CB off balance
- 5CB extends arm fully and releases a falling shot before hitting the ground
Coaching Points
- Release the ball before your back foot leaves the ground — not in mid-air descent
- Extend the arm fully despite the fall; a short arm means a soft shot
- Engage the core to lock your upper body while the lower body collapses
- Keep the throwing elbow high so the ball goes over the block, not into it
- Practice controlled falls on a mat before combining with live defenders
Common Mistakes
- Releasing the ball too late — after the body is already in free-fall, losing all accuracy
- Shortening the arm extension during the fall, producing a weak shot with no pace
- Falling on the shooting arm instead of bracing the fall with the non-throwing hand
- Losing sight of the goal during the fall and shooting blind
- Core collapses before the release, causing the upper body to twist off-target
