Instructions
- 1Trailer T1 is the fourth/fifth player in the break
- 2Trails 8-10 meters behind primary break players
- 3T1 reads passing options - fill gaps left by defense
- 4Wing players attack first - draw defender commitment
- 5If defender doubles wing, backpass to trailer for open shot
- 6T1 must time arrival to avoid walking with the ball
- 7Trailer receives ball and shoots immediately - high percentage play
- 8If defender covers trailer, triangle pass to third player
- 9Communication: trailing player calls out "trailer" when deep
Coaching Points
- Call out 'trailer' loudly the moment you enter the scoring zone so wings know to look back
- T1 must arrive to the position still in motion — stopping kills the shooting angle
- Wing players do not pass back until a defender fully commits to them
- The trailer shot is usually the highest percentage — do not pass up an open look
- Stay 8-10 meters behind the break so you enter late and uncovered, not early
