Instructions
- 1P1 passes diagonally up to P4, then runs to take P4's position
- 2P4 passes down to P2 and runs to fill P2's spot
- 3P2 passes diagonally up to P5, then runs to P5's position
- 4P5 passes down to P3 and rotates to P3's spot
- 5Continue the figure-8 flow, increasing pace each cycle
Coaching Points
- Time your run so you arrive at the receiving point as the ball arrives — not before or after
- Diagonal passes must be flat and precise — arcing passes disrupt the timing
- Move forward after passing — static players break the figure-eight shape
- Keep the pattern tight: wide loops lose the coordination challenge
- Increase speed after 2-3 successful cycles to raise the warm-up intensity
Common Mistakes
- Players run straight lines instead of following the diagonal figure-8 shape
- Arriving at the receiving point too early and standing still waiting for the pass
- Arcing or lobbing passes instead of throwing flat and direct
- Players forget to move forward after passing and block the pattern
