Instructions
- 1SH sets up at the 7m line with the ball, picking a target corner
- 2GK takes a ready stance on the goal line and edges forward slightly
- 3SH steps forward and executes a standing shot to the chosen corner
- 4GK reacts to the shot direction and attempts the save
Coaching Points
- Pick your corner before stepping to the line — commit and don't change
- Snap the wrist on release for power without losing placement
- Control your breathing: one deep exhale before the throw
- Keep the non-throwing arm extended forward for balance and direction
- Focus on the corner of the goal, not the goalkeeper's movements
Common Mistakes
- Changing the target corner mid-throw after reading the goalkeeper's movement
- Stepping over the 7m line before releasing the ball, resulting in a violation
- Rushing the throw without completing the pre-shot routine
- Throwing with only arm power and no wrist snap, losing accuracy
- Leaning backward during the throw instead of driving forward into the shot
