Instructions

  1. 1SH sets up at the 7m line with the ball, picking a target corner
  2. 2GK takes a ready stance on the goal line and edges forward slightly
  3. 3SH steps forward and executes a standing shot to the chosen corner
  4. 4GK reacts to the shot direction and attempts the save

Coaching Points

  • Pick your corner before stepping to the line — commit and don't change
  • Snap the wrist on release for power without losing placement
  • Control your breathing: one deep exhale before the throw
  • Keep the non-throwing arm extended forward for balance and direction
  • Focus on the corner of the goal, not the goalkeeper's movements

Common Mistakes

  • Changing the target corner mid-throw after reading the goalkeeper's movement
  • Stepping over the 7m line before releasing the ball, resulting in a violation
  • Rushing the throw without completing the pre-shot routine
  • Throwing with only arm power and no wrist snap, losing accuracy
  • Leaning backward during the throw instead of driving forward into the shot
