Instructions
- 1P1 launches an explosive overhead pass diagonally across to P2
- 2P2 catches and fires the ball back to P1 with maximum arm velocity
- 3P1 returns a third throw to P2, snapping the wrist on release
- 4P2 completes the set with a controlled return pass back to P1
Coaching Points
- Load the throwing arm fully behind the head before initiating the throw — a short backswing reduces velocity
- Snap the wrist sharply at the point of release to maximize ball speed and add backspin
- Step into the throw with the opposite foot to engage the full kinetic chain from foot to fingertip
- Control the follow-through fully; the arm should finish pointing at the target, not across the body
Common Mistakes
- Short backswing that does not fully load the throwing arm, reducing velocity
- Locked wrist at release instead of a sharp snap, losing 20-30% of shot speed
- Stepping with the same-side foot instead of the opposite, breaking the kinetic chain
- Cutting the follow-through short, causing the ball to flatten and lose accuracy
- Throwing with the upper body only without engaging the legs and hips
