Instructions
- 1P1 throws a high-trajectory pass from the lower left across to P2 on the right
- 2P2 catches and fires the ball back to P1 with full overhead extension
- 3P1 returns a third explosive pass to P2, releasing at peak jump height
- 4P2 completes the set by sending a final controlled return pass to P1
Coaching Points
- Drive off both legs simultaneously for maximum vertical height — a one-foot push-off loses elevation
- Release the ball at the absolute peak of the jump, not on the way up or on the way down
- Keep the core tight through the jump and release; a relaxed torso reduces throwing power and accuracy
- Absorb the landing with bent knees — stiff-legged landings are an injury risk on repeated reps
- The throwing arm should be loaded and ready before the jump — do not start loading in the air
Common Mistakes
- Pushing off one foot instead of both legs, losing vertical height on the jump
- Releasing the ball on the way up or down instead of at the absolute peak
- Starting to load the throwing arm in the air instead of having it ready before takeoff
- Landing stiff-legged, creating injury risk on repeated repetitions
- Relaxing the core during the jump, reducing throwing power and shot accuracy
