Power Passing Drill
Develops explosive passing mechanics and trunk power over repeated reps. Strong, accurate passes let CB and backs move the defense before contact.

Instructions
- 1P1 fires an explosive pass across to P2 standing at mid-court
- 2P2 catches and immediately returns the ball back to P1
- 3P1 receives and sends a third power pass to P2 without pausing
- 4P2 completes the sequence with a final rapid return pass to P1
Coaching Points
- Drive through both legs and extend the hips into every pass — arm strength alone is not enough
- Keep the core braced on both the throw and the catch; a relaxed core absorbs the power you generated
- Catch and return in one fluid motion — the ball should not stop moving in your hands
- Maintain a wide, balanced stance throughout; a narrow stance bleeds force out of each pass
Common Mistakes
- Using only arm strength instead of driving through the legs and extending the hips
- Relaxing the core between passes, losing the power foundation
- Stopping the ball in the hands before returning instead of a fluid catch-and-throw
- Standing with a narrow stance that bleeds force and reduces stability
- Sacrificing pass accuracy for maximum power, sending the ball wide
