Box Passing Rotation

Four players at the corners of a square pass in sequence and then sprint to follow their pass, continuously rotating positions around the box. Combines cardiovascular warm-up with crisp passing and sprint mechanics.

Instructions

  1. 1Four players stand at the corners of a square formation
  2. 2P1 passes clockwise to P2 and sprints to take P2's corner
  3. 3P2 passes to P3 and follows the pass immediately
  4. 4P3 passes to P4, P4 completes the loop back to P1's corner
  5. 5Continue the pass-and-follow pattern without stopping

Coaching Points

  • Sprint immediately after releasing the pass
  • Call the receiver's name before passing
  • Catch at the highest point possible

Common Mistakes

  • Players pass and then walk to the next position instead of sprinting
  • The box shape collapses because players cut corners on their sprint lines
  • Passing too softly, causing the ball to arrive late for the next player
  • Forgetting to call the receiver's name, leading to dropped passes
