Instructions
- 1Pairs start close together (5m) exchanging short passes
- 2Both players step back to increase the distance after each set
- 3Pass with full arm extension as range increases to 15-20m
- 4Continue stepping back until reaching near full-court distance
- 5Step forward to close the gap and finish at moderate range
Coaching Points
- Full arm extension on release
- Step into the throw for long passes
- Catch with fingers, not palms
Common Mistakes
- Throwing at full power from short distance before the shoulder is warm
- Not stepping into the throw when distance increases
- Catching with stiff arms instead of giving with the ball on reception
- Skipping intermediate distances and jumping straight to full court
