Long Pass Warm-Up

Players gradually increase passing distance from 5m to full-court range to progressively load the shoulder and arm before intensive play. Builds throw strength and trajectory accuracy.

Instructions

  1. 1Pair up players on opposite sides of the court
  2. 2Start at 5m and exchange 6-8 passes
  3. 3Step back to 10m and repeat
  4. 4Continue to 15m then 20m then full court
  5. 5Focus on flat fast trajectories at each distance
  6. 6Come back in to 10m and finish

Coaching Points

  • Full arm extension on release
  • Step into the throw for long passes
  • Catch with fingers, not palms
