Sprint and Recover Passing

Players sprint to a cone, receive a pass, return a pass, and jog back to the queue, training quick ball control after high-intensity running. Simulates receiving a pass during a fast break.

Instructions

  1. 1Feeder stands at center court with the ball
  2. 2Players queue on the sideline
  3. 3First player sprints to the cone at the top of the arc
  4. 4Feeder passes — player catches and returns immediately
  5. 5Player jogs back to join the end of the queue
  6. 6Next player goes as previous player returns

Coaching Points

  • Full sprint on approach — do not coast
  • Adjust footwork to catch while decelerating
  • Return pass before fully stopping
